Paddington Station
We have provided Heritage Consultancy services to Costain Skanska, the contractor building the Crossrail station to ensure that the works undertaken are within the consents granted, and that any variations in works to the Grade 1 listed building are captured and consented. This has required close liaison with a large number of sub-contractors, Client team and statutory authorities to ensure the smooth running of this enormous infrastructure project.
As part of the project, we designed the new stone pilaster edge to the new Crossrail Arch entrance to the station, and supervised the repairs to the original cast iron railings in Eastbourne terrace, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
