Garden Temple

The former garden temple, designed by William Chambers for the Earl of Bessborough, was dismantled in the 1950s when the site was compulsorily purchased by the local authority. The stone components had spent nearly 60 years in storage when we were approached to review their condition and develop proposals for a phased rebuilding of the temple within the grounds of Roehampton University.  Our archaeological training and stone masonry experience proved invaluable in putting this three dimensional jigsaw puzzle together.  Phase 1 is complete, and design proposals for the rebuilding of the remainder of the temple are prepared in readiness for implementation. For DIA.
